Global Conference

Based on a continuous dialogue
The Global Conference is a laboratory dedicated to the emergence of a new society project.

Gathering the major stakeholders involved in the elaboration of a new development model, more respectful of human beings and of the environment, the Global Conference is a laboratory dedicated to the emergence of a new society project.

Based on a continuous dialogue between actors from various backgrounds, but also on the sharing of good practices and on the valorization of concrete and innovative solutions, the Global Conference is a place of exchanges, knowledge and meetings, where actors and decision-makers of sustainable development gather in a friendly atmosphere in order to find together solutions to the biggest challenges of our time.

The Global Conference is:

  • The forum where all stakeholders (NGOs, Foundations, Politicians, Industrialists, Media, Experts, Artists, etc.) are really represented at the discussion tables, including youth and students.
  • The forum on sustainable development and responsible economy which possesses a true international dimension, with speakers coming from all over the world in order to share their experiences and their solutions.
  • The forum which proposes a "green trip" to talk and think together during three days. The Global Conference is a time for breathing and listening, a time for networking and a unique B2B discussion place, a time for discovering rare, unifying and shareable innovations.
  • The forum that poses friendliness at the hearth of its approach, which allows, beyond the conference, to live together during three days, to share moments of relaxation and moments of privileged networking (wine tasting, film screenings, art exhibitions, etc.). This unique atmosphere is really adapted to networking and collective thinking. Along with the quality of speakers, constantly renewed, this is THE Planetworkshops’ trademark.
  • Thanks to this approach and this atmosphere, the Global Conference is today the only forum which allows initiating dialogue between actors that do not speak together elsewhere: Areva/Greenpeace; Sherpa/Total, etc.

A collaborative and connected Global Conference

As every year, the main topic will be discussed during the entire three days of conference, thanks to several discussion modules: prospective plenary sessions, thematic focuses, best practices corners, garden talks, face to face sessions...

The Planetworkshops wish to make the Global Conference a more participative and collaborative event. This will be possible thanks to:

  • More collaborative sessions, the audience becoming an actor of the discussion and not just a spectator. The choice of moderators will take into account this imperative collaboration.
  • The establishment of a livetweet system in order to promote exchanges with the public during the different sessions, and maybe even a system of public voting for some live sessions.
  • The establishment of an app dedicated to the Global Conference in order to encourage interaction between the participants before and during the conference.

Carbon Assessment (Bilan Carbone®) and offsetting of the Global Conference 2015

To minimize their impact on climate, The Planetworkshops called EcoAct, climate specialist, to perform the Bilan Carbone® and carbon offsetting of the Xth edition of the Global Conference.

Measure to know

Conduct a Bilan Carbone® amounts to quantify the direct or indirect emissions of greenhouse gas, of an activity or a site. By prioritizing emissions posts, the Bilan Carbone® more easily targets the actions to implement a better climate performance.

Neutralize emissions

After action of reduction implemented, an incompressible share of greenhouse gas remains to neutralize in order to move towards carbon neutrality. Carbon offsetting is a mechanism to help the funding of sober projects greenhouse gases. By offsetting those residual emissions, we also avoid elsewhere the emission of greenhouse gases that we could not avoid within our own activity.

Global Conference 2015

Xth edition
All actors of rupture

The rupture aims to be positive. It entails adaptability, renewal and solutions. New initiatives are being invented at the scale of territories, in line with a multiplication of creativity in favor of the collective. The existing advances have left traces, but have not crossed yet the variety of possibilities.

Facing the acceleration of environmental issues, it is necessary, while focusing on the initiatives that are actually serving a sustainable future, to build on the testimony of those who dared to take the leap. Abandonment of a total dependence on fossil fuels, inventive business models, fair fiscal projects, innovative agricultural productions, renewed financial products, many people have taken up the challenge of a more balanced global economy, more respectful of mankind and its environment, and integrating the demographic issues.

However, the impact of risk-taking is too often hampered by short-term political, economic and financial measures, lacking global visions, and serving particular interests, despite a better use of the concept of governance in development policies promoting participatory democracy. Thus, it is necessary to understand why the good practices, which people know are existing, are not adapted more globally.

During this tenth edition, the debates will be structured around three major themes, highlighting possible actions. We will first consider "The resources we are using", which depend on our rapidity to implement good practices; then we will focus on "The models we are building", which are closely linked with our capacity to created theoretical concepts and we will finally approach "The world we are shaping", which will reflect our ability to change our lifestyles.

During three days, the Global Conference will give a voice to those who dared to take the risk, and who succeeded, and will bring tools likely to change the way our society is working, in order to multiply this virtuous initiatives and to make us all actors of rupture.
